How many years have you been skating for?
I started in 1976, so 34 years
What made you want to start skating?
Skateboarding looked challenging, fun and exciting back in the early 70′s and this is when privately owned cement skate parks were popping up all over California for us to ride.
Where do you usually skate?
I skate at either Lake Cunningham and Roosevelt skate parks in San Jose, CA. or Greg’s vert ramp up in Richmond when I’m not on a skate tour or contest somewhere around the world.
Do you skate with a set crew of people or do you mix it up a little?
I have my same local vert skate crew i chill with at the moment.
What set up are you skating? (board, trucks, wheels, etc…)
Powell Peralta CAB stencil vert deck , Independent 149′s, Cab dragon signature 60mm wheels and Bones swiss bearings.
What do you enjoy most about skating?
The feeling of accomplishment after putting so much hard work into challenges set before us and rush of getting over our fears of falling. It also breaks all racial barriers and it makes people happy.
What do you like to do when your not skating?
I like learning about art and challenging myself with that as well. Playing with my kids, teaching and inspiring them with all things in my life. Love to study the bible, learn scriptures understanding God’s will and wisdom for my life by following his Son, Christ Jesus as an example of what’s expected of us.
What would your ideal day be like?
It would involve my family by going to church in the morning, go skating during the day, eat an awesome sushi dinner and hit up an art show at night.
Skaters… who would be your top 3 picks and why?
Danny Way, because of how gnarly he is and what he’s accomplish on the Mega ramp.
Chris Haslam because of his calmness and creativity towards street skating.
Bucky Lasek for his style, flow and smooth skating on vert or in a bowl.
Where would you say is your favorite place to skate?
Favorite bowl would be the Vans Combi-Bowl at the Block for how smooth and perfect it is.

Any words of advice to those that are starting out?
Respect and love others, stay positive and don’t take your skateboarding talent and your sponsors for granted, be appreciative and remember that everything we own, even our own talents are a gift from God.
Is there anyone that you would like to thank?
I would like to give thanks first and foremost… my lord and savior Christ Jesus for making me see the world in HIS eyes and showing me my true nature, my wife and kids for all their love and also putting up with my attitude, my parents and family for the support they have given me and all my sponsor for all their help to give me different avenues to express myself creatively and spread the good news about the gospel and skateboarding all over the world.
